General Terms of Daily Equipment Rental – Cerkno Rental Shop

These terms apply only to daily equipment rental at the Cerkno rental shop. Seasonal and annual rental is governed by separate terms.

1. Lessor

The lessor is Smučarsko društvo Novinar, Staničeva 41, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, VAT ID SI34260820, Cerkno business unit. The rental shop is located at the top of the Počivalo chairlift in Cerkno Ski Resort. Contact: +386 31 780 111, sola.smucanja@novinar-drustvo.si.

2. Scope

These terms apply to daily equipment rental at the Cerkno rental shop, whether or not the equipment was reserved in advance. The customer accepts them by signing the rental form when collecting the equipment. Seasonal rental is governed by separate terms.

3. Online reservation

3.1 An online reservation is an equipment order and does not guarantee the availability of a specific item. If the ordered item is not available, the lessor will offer a comparable one.

3.2 Reservations for the following day can be made until 8 p.m. After that time, and for the same day, equipment is rented directly at the rental shop.

3.3 The price shown in the reservation is for information only. The price list valid on the day of collection applies.

4. Collection of equipment

4.1 Equipment can be collected every day during ski resort operating hours, from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

4.2 On collection, the customer presents a valid identity document and signs the rental form.

4.3 For persons under 18, the rental form is signed by a parent or legal guardian.

5. Prices and payment

5.1 The price list published on the website and at the rental shop applies. All prices include VAT.

5.2 Discount per person: 10% for rentals of 3 to 5 days, 15% for rentals of 6 days or more. The discount is calculated on the total price of that person’s equipment.

5.3 The rental is paid on collection of the equipment.

5.4 Groups and legal entities are charged prices as separately agreed.

6. Return of equipment

6.1 Equipment must be returned on the last day of the rental before the rental shop closes.

6.2 Each started day of delay is charged according to the price list.

6.3 Equipment may be returned before the end of the rental period; the amount paid is not refunded.

6.4 If equipment is not returned within 3 days after the end of the rental period, the lessor will report it to the police as stolen.

7. Liability for equipment

7.1 The customer is responsible for the equipment from collection until return.

7.2 Damage beyond normal use is charged at the cost of repair.

7.3 In the event of destruction, loss or theft, the customer pays the market price of the equipment as published on the manufacturer’s website. If no price is published, the price is set by the lessor.

7.4 Theft must be reported by the customer to the nearest police station, and the police report must be presented to the lessor.

8. Equipment insurance

8.1 On rental, the customer may pay equipment insurance amounting to 5% of the rental price after discount.

8.2 The insurance covers the cost of repairing accidental damage.

8.3 The insurance does not cover destruction, loss or theft of equipment, or damage caused by intentional or negligent use.

9. Safety

9.1 Bindings are adjusted according to the information provided by the customer. The customer guarantees that this information is true.

9.2 The customer must not adjust or modify the bindings.

9.3 Bindings cannot guarantee complete safety. The customer uses the equipment at their own risk.

9.4 During the rental period, equipment may be exchanged for equipment of the same quality, if available.

10. Personal data

The lessor processes the customer’s personal data solely for the purpose of the rental, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Slovenian Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2) and the privacy statement, which also sets out the retention periods. The customer receives news from the society only if they subscribe separately.

11. Final provisions

These terms apply from 27 September 2026. The lessor may amend these terms. Any amendments apply from the date of their publication on the website.
